The craftsman's workshop for
marble production "Lavorazione Marmo ROSSI" was
established far back in 1850.
"Sacred Statues by Rossi" has
been a part of the picture for almost ten year
and exports its unique products all over the world.
Unfortunately, this industry is slowly disappearing
due to the invasion of machinery and the lack
of interest of the younger generations in manual
work.
Michele Rossi owes much of his
artistic capabilities to the craftsmanship of
his father Ennio and his uncle Domenico although
his singular tendency for art has lead him down
many personal roads that still today, make his
workmanship quite unique. Testimonials and traces
(that lead back to the Samnite province and territories)
of rare, inimitable artistic expression are found
in the products made by "Lavorazione Marmo Rossi"
including gateways, incisions, podiums and sculptures.
Michele Rossi's intuition has
allowed him to capture the growing devotion of
the faithful to Pietrelcina's most important citizen:
Padre Pio, declared Saint June 16th 2002 by
Pope John Paul II. Ennio Rossi has made his son
responsible for this unique, new situation and
he looks after it with great competence.
Works of art by great artists
and splendid statues made of the prestigious wood
found in the Gardena Valley are on exhibition
in the Sacred Art Gallery. Today "Sacred Statues
by Rossi" has workshops that passionately and
tastefully create statues that enrich the Rossi
Collections in addition to outlining the characteristics
of other sculptures and monuments that become
splendid and unique artistic examples.
